Insect/Mosquito Repellents

Mosquitoes, horse and sand flies, midges, ticks and other biting insects not only cause irritation, but also bring the threat of diseases such as Malaria, Zika Virus, Dengue Fever, Chikungunya and Lyme Disease.

In order to deter insects we offer a range of DEET and DEET-Free spray and wipe repellents.

DEET Repellents | DEET is recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) for use as a mosquito and other insect repellent in areas at high risk of disease carrying insects.  We offer three strengths:

• Trek 50 is our maximum strength repellent.
• Trek Ultra contains less DEET. but the unique formulation provides all day protection from one application.
• Trek 20 is the mildest strength of DEET and is suitable for travel where there are biting insects, but the risk of disease carrying insects is small.

DEET Free Repellents | Some travellers prefer not to use DEET, so we also offer a range of DEET-free repellents that are perfect for tropical travel, or as a general purpose repellent. Using the latest Saltidin® technology, Trek Sensitive and Trek Midge & Tick are suitable for pregnant women, children age 2+, and those with sensitive skin. 
Trek Sensitive is now available in a wipe format which is ideal for younger children, and carrying in airport hand baggage, as it is not affected by the regulations regarding liquids in hand luggage.

If you prefer the products you put on your skin to be natural, our Trek Natural mosquito repellent is made from sustainably sourced Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus.  Trek Natural is suitable for children from 6 months+ and protects for up to 10 hours from one application.
